Physicals and Outstanding Paperwork

Parents and students, PLEASE take the time today to log in and look at your Register My Athlete account. If your status is not showing COMPLETE at this time, with a date completed, you MUST get any outstanding items taken care of immediately. Students whose paperwork is not complete will have to start sitting out until paperwork issues are resolved. There are over 20 students whose physicals have not been submitted.

The athletic department assistant has attempted to contact all parents with missing paperwork to resolve these issues. If you have been receiving emails about a missing physical or incomplete account, please do not ignore them. These emails are only being sent to those whose students’ paperwork is not complete. If you are receiving them, it means you need to follow up.

If you have submitted a physical and your status is not showing complete, please call or email Sharon Mardesich (801-610-8815 or smardesich@alpinedistrict.org). We need to find out if they physical was rejected or not properly received. Sharon is available on A day during lunch or after school until 3:00 PM.

New Uniform Preparation

On Thursday, October 19, we will be meeting to box up the old uniforms to be sent to district surplus (per district policy) and prepare the racks and uniform bags so that they are ready when the new uniforms arrive. We will be meeting at 10:00 in the booster closet, down the hall from the band room at Westlake. This is the first day of fall break.

If you are available to help with this, please contact Tawnya Mayo at tawnyamayo@yahoo.com so that we know how many are planning to help. We are hoping to get this completely finished that morning.

Competition Food Sign-Up

There are still open slots on the sign-up sheets for the BYU (October 10) and Davis HS (October 14) competitions. The sign-up is online at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e044daeaf23a13-byucompetition. Please follow the link and read the description carefully before signing up.

Any remaining food donations for BYU need to be dropped off by 3:00 PM today. Please contact Becky Barney to make arrangements.

Thank you so much for your willingness to help. If you have any questions about food, contact Becky Barney by phone or text (914-439-7534) or by email (beckybarney6@gmail.com).

Band Banquet

On January 10, 2018, we will hold a marching band banquet in the Westlake commons area to celebrate our season and commemorate our Rose Parade experience. Instead of honoring seniors and staff at the family show, we will be honoring them at this end-of-season banquet. We would love to have volunteers to help plan and carry out the banquet. If you are interested in helping with this event, please contact Charlotte Ducos at cdducos@gmail.com.

Healthy Living Reminder

We are now in the thick of our performance season. Please remember that maintaining health and preventing injury are of paramount importance. While we hope that we all remain healthy and accident-free all of the time, we ask that you please carefully consider the activities you take part in outside of rehearsals and performances and avoid activities that have a high risk or high rate of injury. Season ending injuries are heartbreaking for everyone involved. Be careful, eat healthy foods, get enough sleep, and make good, smart choices! Please avoid bounce houses, trampoline centers, and other high-risk activities like this. You need your legs to march!
