Clothing Drive and Pancake Breakfast

Our next big fundraiser is our clothing drive and pancake breakfast. Do your friends and family know about this event yet?

To make this fundraiser successful, people need to know about it. There is an event on the band Facebook page that you can share on Facebook and the event flyer is attached to this email. Spread the information on your favorite social networks

At our early clothing drop-off last Wednesday, we filled half of the band trailer, which puts us 1/4 of the way to our goal of filling two trailers with one month left to continue gathering clothing. Thank you to those who have already been collecting! Let your neighbors and family know that you are collecting and we will see you at the final clothing drop-off on Saturday, April 15.

The pancake breakfast will be held from 8:00 to 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 15, at Neptune Park in conjunction with the Saratoga Springs Easter egg hunt, which starts at 9:00 AM. This fundraiser helps cover the cost of meals for the band during the competition season.

You can prepay for the pancake breakfast online to skip the payment line that morning. To pay in advance, go to www.thunderband.com and look for the pancake breakfast payment links on the right side of the page. These links will take you to MySchoolFees.com to make your payment. Bring your receipt with you to the breakfast to skip the line.

Clothing Drive and Pancake Breakfast Help Needed

There are still plenty of spots to volunteer to help at the pancake breakfast. The city is expecting a huge turnout and we need lots of help to make this successful.

The sign-up link below is for items to be donated or borrowed and people needed to make this event a success. Thank you for your support and continued help in all our awesome fundraising endeavors!

Winter Guard Competitions

Congratulations to our four winter guard teams on four first place finishes at the competition on Saturday!

Thank you very much to all of the competitors and volunteers who made Saturday’s competition a true success and thank you to Mr. Twitchell and Mr. Mangelson for presenting awards at both ceremonies. We could not have hosted this event without the help from so many volunteers.

The state championship competition is in two weeks on Saturday, April 1, at Copper Hills High School.

Day of Percussion Results

Congratulations to our percussion students on their results at Saturday’s Day of Percussion. Our ensembles won first and third place in 5A chamber ensembles. Matt Wright placed third in 11-12 grade timpani, Kalyse Conger placed third in 11-12 grade rudimental snare, Bailey Herbert placed third in 11-12 grade marimba, and Caden Erickson placed second in 9-10 grade snare drum. Those results gave us a placement in every 11-12 grade caption and in one out of two 9-10 grade captions. Great work!

April Band Booster Meeting

Our next band booster meeting will be held on Thursday, April 13, at 8:00 PM in the Westlake band room. This is a change from our normal meeting date due to spring break and has been scheduled the night at the meeting for the April music department tour. Parents with students attending the music department tour meeting should arrive at 7:00 PM for that meeting and the band booster meeting will follow directly after at 8:00 PM.

All parents are always invited to all booster meetings. Booster meetings are the best way to get informed and find out how you can get involved and help out. We hope to see you there!
