2018 Marching Band Registration
Registration for the 2018 marching band season begins tomorrow, March 28, and must be completed by Friday, April 13. Students can begin registering tomorrow at registermyathlete.com.
The schedule for the coming year has been updated on thunderband.com. Additional details will be added to the schedule as they are available.
A copy of the marching band contract is included with the attachments on this email. Do not print and fill out the contract attached to the email. Registration must be done through registermyathlete.com.
2018 Marching Band Prospective Parent Meeting
There is a meeting for new and prospective marching band parents at 6:00 PM this Thursday, March 29, at Vista Heights Middle School. This is an opportunity for parents of prospective students at Vista Heights, Frontier, and Westlake to ask questions about the coming year and visit with experienced marching band parents.
Please share this information with parents of students you know who may be interested in participating in this year’s season.
2018 Marching Band Leadership Applications
Mr. Brady has posted a video on Facebook with information about applying for 2018 marching band leadership positions. The leadership application information is included with this email.
The process for applying for leadership positions has changed, so please read and follow the directions carefully and GOOD LUCK! The application process must be completed by April 9.
Region Band Festival Tomorrow
Region band festival is tomorrow (Wednesday), March 28, at Bingham High School. Call time is 3:00 PM.
Concert Band performs at 5:00 PM, Symphonic Band at 6:00 PM, and Wind Symphony at 8:00 PM. Buses are expected to be back at Westake at 9:00 PM.
Clothing Drive Fundraiser
It’s clothing drive time! The flyer for this year’s clothing drive is attached to this email. This is our major fundraiser for the season. Funds will be used for competition food and other equipment needed for the upcoming season.
Start gathering clothing items! Each student is being asked to gather 25 black garbage bags full of clothing (30-gallon size). All clothing must be packaged in the large black bags as required by the fundraising company. The final drop-off date is April 14, but we will also have an early drop-off date of Friday, March 30, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
Students will receive a ticket for a drawing for every 25 bags donated. The student with the highest number of FULL, black, 30 gallon bags will receive $100 credit towards their fees. Contact your neighbor, contact your school (lost and found), and start gathering clothing today!
Meet Mr. Brady and Booster Meeting April 11
Our next booster meeting is Wednesday, April 11, at 7:30 PM in the band room. Before the meeting, we will have an opportunity for parents and students to meet Mr. Brady beginning at 6:00 PM.
Rose Parade Photos and Videos
Rose Parade photos and videos are available from your student’s band director. If your student has not brought theirs home, please remind them to pick it up from the band room. We will have any remaining sets out at our next concert if they are not picked up by that time.
