Service Competition Ice Cream Social

It is here at last: the ice cream social of the century! Congratulations again to the brass section for winning the service competition!

If you are a student in the brass section or a member of the band staff, please join us right after school on February 2 in the faculty lounge at Westlake High School. Please RSVP on the signup genius.

The ice cream is being donated by a local business. We need parents to volunteer to provide toppings for banana splits. We have a lot of topping need to feed these hungry students who served so diligently in the competition.

Winter Guard Competition Help

Our award-winning winter guard program will be hosting a competition at Westlake High School on March 17. This event requires a lot of volunteers to keep it running smoothly.

Setup begins on Friday, March 16, and time slots are available for a variety of needs all day on Saturday, March 17. Please take a look at the signup and see where you can help!


Mini Guard Camp

Our mini guard camp is being held next week on Monday, February 5, and Wednesday, February 7, followed by a halftime performance at the Westlake girls basketball camp on Thursday, February 8. This camp acts as a fundraiser for our guard program.

School Solo and Ensemble Night

Solo and ensemble night is coming up on February 21. If you have not chosen a piece and secured an accompanist, please do so right away. All Westlake students should plan to participate.

Parents, talk with your student about this today!


Rose Parade Photos and DVDs

The Rose Parade photos have arrived and the DVDs are being duplicated and should arrive soon. Once the DVDs arrive, we will deliver them to the band directors at each school so they can be handed out during band classes. We can’t wait to send them home to you!


Booster Meeting February 7

Our next booster meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 7, at 7:30 PM in the band room. We will be planning our spring fundraisers and working on transition planning to move into next season. All parents are invited to attend booster meetings. If you have wanted to get involved but aren’t sure how, this is the place to find out what you can do to help.


Rented Instrument Return

Students who rented horns need to clean their instruments and return them to Westlake as soon as possible. This includes rentals from Westlake and the Battalion horns. Please clean them and polish them. if applicable, and then bring them to the band room. This is for all students, both middle school and Westlake, unless you are at Westlake and you are also renting that instrument as your concert instrument.
