Rose Parade Tour Final Registration and Room Assignments
If you are planning to participate in the Rose Parade tour but have not yet registered, you must complete your registration immediately. The reservation deadline is May 31 for both parents and students.
Parents and family members who have registered for the tour, if you have specific rooming preferences, please send those requests to Charlotte Ducos (cdducos@gmail.com) so that the necessary arrangements can be made. If you are planning to have your student stay in your room, we must have this information so that we can accurately determine the number of student rooms needed. If you have specific requests for other adults in your room, please send that information now so that we can make those arrangements.
Please DO NOT send requests for student room assignments now unless you are requesting that your student be assigned to your room. Student room assignments will be made at a later date.
Bob Rogers Travel was able to delay locking in our block of hotel rooms, which allowed us to extend the registration deadline, but they must finalize our reservation with the hotel. After May 31, our block of rooms will be finalized and we will not be able to add additional hotel rooms.
Eagle Mountain and Saratoga Springs Parades
We still need students to sign up to help with the Eagle Mountain and Saratoga Springs parades. While we will not be performing in the parades, we do have a spot in each parade and need students to walk the parade route to hand out candy and fliers. We would love to have band parents participate as well. Sign-up sheets are in the band room and will be available during sectionals this week.
We will wear band polo shirts and khaki shorts. If you would like to participate but have not received your polo shirt, please sign up and we will make sure you have access to a polo shirt.
The Eagle Mountain parade is Saturday June 3. We will meet at Ridley’s at 7:50 am and take buses to the parade starting point.
The Saratoga Springs parade is on June 10. Details for the Saratoga Spring parade will come later.

Summer Sectionals
Summer sectionals begin Tuesday morming for both brass and woodwinds. Please be sure to check the calendar at www.thunderband.com and note your sectional days and times as well as any camps that apply to your section. Percussion camp is coming up on Monday June 5 for both drumline and front ensemble.
Marching Band Physical Deadline
Marching band physicals are due tomorrow, May 31. You can submit them online at www.registermyathlete.com or bring them to Sharon Mardesich at the high school. She will be available tomorrow from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Marching Band Leadership Camp
Marching band leadership camp is this Thursday to Saturday, June 1 to 3. Students who hold a leadership position in the marching band should have received an email containing camp information. Please contact Mr. Mangelson (bmangelson@alpinedistrict.org
Mini Guard Camp
The Westlake color guard will be holding a mini guard camp this week. The camp will be held Tuesday through Friday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM each night. See the attached flier here.
Driver’s Education
Students will not be excused from band rehearsals or camps for driver’s education classes or range time. Driver’s ed instructors also will not excuse students from class or range in order to attend band rehearsals or camps. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Please be sure to check the calendar on www.thunderband.com to be sure that there are no conflicts with scheduled rehearsals and camps when scheduling driver’s ed. The driver’s ed classes most likely to work with marching band are those in January and June. Please plan ahead and plan accordingly.
