Marching Band and Tour Registration
Registration for marching band and the Rose Parade tour are now closed. If you were not able to complete either registration for some reason, contact Mr. Mangelson (bmangelson@alpinedistrict.org
Fundraiser Updates
We are kicking off our fundraising efforts this week! Our first fundraiser will be a clothing drive over that runs for seven weeks, ending in conjunction with our pancake breakfast on April 15. See the flyer here for more details.
Funds raised in the clothing drive will go toward the purchase of new uniforms. If a corporate sponsor is found to cover the cost of the uniforms, funds raised will go toward lowering tour costs for the band as a whole.
Watch for a separate email later this week with the sponsorship packet and banner program information. Funds raised through the banner program and sponsorships will also be used for the purchase of new uniforms and to offset tour costs, if possible. If students are able to secure more than one sponsorship, additional sponsorships can be applied to a student’s individual fees.
Fundraiser Information Meeting
On March 8, we will be holding a parent meeting to provide information about fundraisers for the upcoming season. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 8, at 7:00 PM in the lecture hall (C129) at Westlake. Enter through the main entrance doors when you arrive at the high school.
We will go over the full fundraising plan for this season and answer questions. We will also distribute and explain paperwork related to fundraisers.
We are planning to record this meeting so that those who cannot attend can still watch it. A video link will be sent out after the meeting. If you are available, please plan to attend since the usefulness of the video will depend on parents and students in attendance asking questions during the meeting.
Winter Guard Food Sign Up
Winter guard has been doing an amazing job at their competitions this season. We are so proud of our teams!
Their next competition is on Saturday, March 4, at Lone Peak High School. We are helping to provide food for the teams for this competition. If you are able to help out, please sign up at http://www.signupgenius.com/
Booster Meeting on March 1
We will hold our monthly band booster meeting on Wednesday, March 1, at 7:30 PM. All parents are invited and welcome to attend and give input at this meeting. Booster meetings are where the planning and decision making for our upcoming season take place. If you want to get involved and be informed, band booster meetings are the place to start. We hope to see you there!
Service Project Coordinators Needed
The 2018 Rose Parade theme is “Making a Difference.” In keeping with this theme, we are interested in finding a parent volunteer or group of volunteers to head up periodic service opportunities for band members. These do not need to be big or time consuming projects, just small opportunities to make a difference in our community. If you are interested in helping with this, please contact Charlotte Ducos at cdducos@gmail.com.
Jazz Band Pep Band Today
Jazz band is playing pep band for the state basketball tournament today. Call time is 2:45 PM.
